The short version
The dashboard asks you nothing and sends nothing to us. It shows what you chose to save from the two tools, which is kept in your browser, and works out the combined figure in your browser too. It sets no cookies and has no analytics.
Who is responsible
Hyphora Consulting Ltd runs the dashboard. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 12904446, registered office 126 Crampton Street, London, England, SE17 3AE. Questions or requests go to Ben Hart at ben@hyphora.co.uk.
What the dashboard reads
Each tool has a box you can tick to save your results to this dashboard. Both are off by default. Ticking one keeps a summary of that tool's results in your browser's own storage, and the dashboard reads it from there. Nothing reaches the dashboard any other way.
- From the Household Carbon Footprint: your totals, the breakdown by area, and the figures the calculation used, which are the number of people in your home, your energy use by fuel, your car mileage, your weekly travel, your flights, your diet and your spending.
- From the Home Energy Report: how many improvements apply to your home, their cost and savings ranges, the names of the best-fit ones, your energy use by fuel before and after them, and a reference to your conversation so the dashboard can link back to your report. No address, no photos and no transcript.
The combined figure, and the grants matched to your home, are worked out in your browser from those summaries. Nothing is sent to us to do it.
Your report. If you follow the link to your home energy report, your browser asks the Home Energy Report for it using that conversation reference. The report tool keeps your conversation for 24 hours after your last answer, as its own statement says; after that the link has nothing to open, but the dashboard keeps showing your saved summary.
Your IP address. When your browser loads the dashboard, our host, Vercel, keeps short-lived server logs that include your IP address, as the main notice describes. Those logs do not contain your saved summaries. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running the dashboard securely.
Who can see it
Your saved summaries are not sent to us or to anyone else, and we do not sell or market anything about you. They are in this browser only: a different browser or device will show an empty dashboard. Anyone else who uses this browser can see them. Vercel hosts the dashboard and may store its server logs outside the UK, mainly in the United States. That transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement, as set out in the main notice.
The grants listed on the dashboard link to the schemes' own websites, which have their own privacy notices.
How long it is kept, and how to remove it
- Saved summaries: in your browser until you remove them. They do not expire on their own. To remove one, untick the save box in the tool that saved it. To remove everything, press Clear everything at the foot of the dashboard, or clear this website's data in your browser's settings.
- Server logs: deleted by our host within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to confirm whether we hold information about you and give you a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, or give it to you in a portable format. The dashboard keeps nothing on our side except our host's short-lived server logs, and you can delete your saved summaries yourself as described above. Email ben@hyphora.co.uk; we reply within one month and there is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We will update this statement when what the dashboard reads, or how it uses it, changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
